What Is Health Coaching?

When people hear the term “Health Coach”, most people start thinking about kale, exercise and being told to give up alcohol and caffeine.

Four things which I do love, by the way. The thing is, health is so much more than food and exercise. In fact, I the starting point for every client is different. Health and vitality is not a one-sized-fits-all approach. I custom tailor every program to the individual I am working with so you can Live Healthy the No Nonsense Way.

Specifically, I work with crazy busy professional women, who struggle with stress and overwhelm, are constantly running in circles, lack boundaries feel guilt that they aren’t doing enough, and wake up not even recognizing the person in the mirror anymore because they are so tired, have gained unwanted weight, and feel like there is no time for fun.  They know they need to make a change, but simply do not have time to think about what to do.

I help them achieve weight loss without calorie counting, feeling sexy again, confidence that melts away the worry of what others think, energy that doesn’t come from a cup of coffee and stress reduction that doesn’t come in a wine bottle. Essentially, I help them develop robust self-care and get really good at putting their own oxygen mask on first. As a result, they have more time for everything, life gets easier, their energy explodes and they begin experiencing more joy in their lives.

As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully, help you to navigate this world of contradictory advice, help determine what changes are necessary for you and your bio-individual needs, empower you to take charge of your health and help you become the most vibrant person in the room!

I view health WholeListically and have a unique coaching approach. I look at how your Primary Foods of life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat or lose sleep at night? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

My approach to health does not dwell on calories, restrictions, and denial. Instead, I focus on abundance and crowding in gradual lifestyle changes so my clients can live life in a flexible, fun and rewarding way.

There are certain buzz words in my programs. Here is more detail about terms you will often hear from me.

Primary Food™
It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.

Bio-Individuality™
The concept of bio-individuality is the idea that each of us has unique healthy blueprint. No one way of eating, exercising or mental well-being practice that works for everyone. It is why fads stay fads. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.

Crowding Out
Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will “crowd out” the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you all the way.

Deconstructing Cravings
Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings (hint: it often doesn’t center around the food itself) and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.

Health coaching is proven by behavioral scientists to be one the most effective ways for helping lead client to positive change. Working 1:1 with a trained professional provides clients the time and space to talk about what is going on in their life, really be heard, and then supported to start prioritizing themselves and start living life with their intended purpose.
