Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? I know I do, but whether it’s my sensitivity to dairy or desire to consume better for me ingredients, powdered mixes at the store don’t work for me. So this one uses coconut milk (get my favorite one here), dates, raw cacao, and cinnamon. Sweetening with dates gives it a caramel touch plus it puts fiber in your drink which helps your body metabolize the sugars slower. There are no refined sugars here! The Raw Cacao provides lots of antioxidants including flavanols and polyphenols, fiber and magnesium. Cinnamon is great for lowering and regulating blood sugar, so you don’t get the spike, then crash. Cinnamon is great for diabetics to have in their diet. All-in-all, this drink is a superfood powerhouse!
Our family sips (well, my kids chug) on this all winter. And in the summer, we skip the heating step and have healthy chocolate milk. It’s free of dairy and refined sugars and it’s vegan!
