Green smoothies are a great way to hydrate, get in some extra greens (because who wants to eat salad all day), and refresh and energize you. The key is to making sure you have more vegetables than fruit. Otherwise it can spike your blood sugar too much. It’s also important to have fat and protein in your smoothies so that your body can absorb and assimilate all the vitamins, minerals and fiber from the fruit and veggies.
Next time you need breakfast on the go, or want to snack, try out this smoothie. Your body, cells, brain, liver, kidneys and digestive tract will thank you!
